Good news, bad news

Bad News: MD lost his job today.

Good News: I hated that damn job, and lately, he has too.

Bad News: Woah. MD lost his job today.

Good News: Two full paychecks are in the pipeline and our family insurance is good until the end of the month.

Bad News:  Insurance for MD outside a job won’t be cheap.

Good News: I’m covered at my job, and we can figure something out for Jamie.

Bad News: Again, the losing the job.

Good News: Right now MD is calling in every favor or contact he’s ever had, and he’s already picked up one bar shift a week, which could turn into 3 shortly.  Let me reiterate – he’s been out of a job for less than 6 hours, and he’s already replaced half his take home (without benefits, but still). Yeah, he made that little, and he’s worth so much more.

Annnd Good News: It’s tax time. We might not being paying off the credit cards we were planning on -which was going to be very, very satisfying – but with our tax return and what MD is cobbling together at the moment, I think we’re good for the time being.

So, sometimes losing one’s job can mean more good than bad? I think this might be one of those times. All I know is, the feeling in the pit of my stomach is half nerves and half excitement.

It’s been good (but scary) for us. Here’s hoping it’s more good and less scary for you both!!!

We are here for you in more ways than one! Having been in this situation… hating the job, wanting to leave, but tied to the paycheck and fear of not having the money…. Well, I was released as you know, and in the end it was a blessing. Of course things happen for a reason and the best we can do is make the situation better, by our choice to take control. All of this you know, but we are here for you both!

Also the “offer” still stands if we decide to stay in Ohio. Something as a safe guard if you want to look at it that way.

I know you will both make the best of this and thank goodnesss he doesn’t have to work at a place where he was under appreciated, used and abused! Never liked that place anyhow! You hubbie is worth so much more!!! He is talented, smart, funny, personable, strong, loyal and a team player! What more could any employer want???

Hugs to you both, it will turn out for the better so let that yucky part of your feelings go.

Hopefully the doors will open to new and better things, and meanwhile, courage during the transition, because losing a job is scary stuff.

Here’s looking towards excitement. I hope his search is going well.

Anecdotal, but I have never had a job I hated end, and have any aspect of my life turn out worse than before.
