March of the squishy frogs

I haven’t written here much about potty training because, well, it’s gone pretty much like our sleep sagas and the back and forth up and down talk about your child’s habits and in this case, bodily functions, gets really really old. It gets old for me and MD, even.

The only reason it’s coming up now is for me to say, HA! We’ve finally turned a corner (knock on wood, ptoi, ptoi!) and it was sheer bribery that got us there. Poop in the potty, you get a prize. Here’s the prize basket – see, all that dollar store crap and various candies? They can be yours. Just poop. In. The. Damn. Potty.

But really, that’s just all backstory for this photo:

March of the stretchy frogs

These are part of the new prize collection, won only if a set number of stickers are won, and we had a great time playing with them last night. They’re cute, colorful, and their limbs and bodies are stretchy and snappy.  And they like to line up on various limbs, where they can be shaken or knocked off with gleeful abandon.

Noah used to collect the lizards like that and for some reason he called them “loobies.” We had loobies around the house for a long, long time!!

Bribery is key. We used M&Ms and, um, ahem, um… a Power Wheels truck after a week of no accidents. Not wiping someone else’s butt made that well worth it. Well, we still wipe, but you get the idea.

I wish we were that far along!!!!! V won’t even pee in the toilet unless prompted and half the time that doesn’t even work. We tried, Chocolate, M&Ms, power trucks, cars…. He is just not ready. He still wakes with a wet diaper and I’ve been told that this is a sign of not being ready. UGH!

I tell you what I am ready that is for certain!

Yeah for Jamie! I think that is terrific!
